Food was delicious: we had a duck and a beef in fresh cream sauce with dumplings. Huge portions, very filling. The chease was perfect, fries too tiny, so hard you can't pierce them with the fork and tartar sauce more like plain mayo. Pilsner beer very good as always.Posted on Google

Beer is on draft and cheaper then in tourist routes in Karlovy Vary. But they most significant thing for us was their service. Exceptional and truly friendly. Nikos Karanikolas1 February 2024During to our trip to Karlovy Vary we went to this restaurant given the nice reviews it had on tripadvisor. I confirm these reviews given that it's a nice resto with good atmosphere and great service. We ordered a deer gulash and a chicken stuffed with sausages. Depends on the team that is in charge. First night table for two, beer within 10 seconds world record ! So we each drank 3 and then 3 gin tonic. The beef tartare was decorated lovely with Safran and green leafs, the waiter and the blonde waitress perfect eye contact all time and ready to receive our orders (levanzen sweet dish, also the karp was splendid) . Later we got a bigger table to munch. A perfect night. Two days later, same location but a different world: no reservation ahead accepted, no eye contact, the girl totally ignored us, so only two beer and after a wrong cocktail we had enough and left. The beef tartare was served without any smart look but next to a huge mountain of salt , totally no taste and spirit one would expect in hotel madonna. One should give only 3 stars for that evening, but the friendly crew from first visit saved the rating.Posted on Google

kathy f22 May 2023Pleasant, relaxed dinner. We were very happy with this restaurant. We wanted an alternative to the Grand Hotel Pupp and decided to try this slightly out of the way place. It was a nice evening stroll down the river to a basement restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. We ordered the chicken and pork schnitzel and ordered mixed vegetables and pureed potatoes. Everything was delicious and the waiter was pleasant and helpful. I ordered a juice that was listed and asked for the strawberry flavor which caused a moment of confusion, but after I remembered the word cerveny for red we worked it out and he quickly found it. Aleks P24 March 2023The elderly gentleman waiter is great. Friendly, polite and professional. Speaks English also. Great tasty food. Recommend. I recommend the duck with knuddeln and red cabbage. Also nice atmosphere, where local guests were also preset (photo shows purposely empty part). Nice calm music playing which creates a pleasant environment. Credit cards accepted. I could eat here everyday and never get bored, plenty of delicious dishes that I tried and still plenty more to try, all of them spectacularly delicious -- much better than any of the tourist trap 🪤 restaurants on the boardwalk. This restaurant isn't obvious to find, but be sure to try this restaurant, a few times, while you're here, it will not disappoint. There's nothing to recommend because all of the food on the menu is great. Service was nice. Interior decor is a medieval style ⚔️ without being kitch or gimmicky, it's done well and with class -- take a closer look at all of the prints and paintings on the walls 🖼️.Posted on Google
