Who believes or doesn’t believe it? We’ll try to ask him straight away and see his reaction.

Mr. Director, every year you go in person with a festive big New Year’s cake to the hall of the restaurant, only wit the light of sparklers on the cake. All promotional materials say that you bake it yourself. Can you tell me if it’s true?

Yes, I have to admit that it is the truth, from the beginning to the very last decorated piece of cake, I have been doing it myself since becoming Hotel Director in 2004.

This is the 21th time you will be bringing the New Year’s cake to a full house…, will you finally reveal the famous recipe?
Květoslav Navrátil (Hotel Director)
I’m sorry, but I really can’t do that. I make the cake according to an old family recipe and preserve certain rituals in its creation, so that it has its power and the charm of an exceptional magical night of the last day of the old year, while welcoming new hopeful expectations and sweetly good first minutes of the new one.
The only thing I can tell is that the preparation and the first breaking of eggs must begin exactly on a given day and at a specific time, but I will not reveal what day it is or what time I start, strictly alone, without the help of other confectioners.

We always try to keep the tradition, but we also add a little specification with a surprise every year, especially for the kids who, like every year, assist in cutting and take pictures with me, it’s already a kind of confectioner’s New Year’s Eve feast that we all look forward to.
